In 2023, Citizen Space supported over 10,600 published activities and 1.2 million responses across local government, central government, regulatory bodies and beyond. This report, the first in an ongoing series, takes a data-led look at who was using the platform, what they were consulting on, and what the patterns reveal about the direction of public engagement.
It covers a year in which transport and planning dominated the agenda, climate and energy activities grew significantly, and local authorities accounted for over 42% of platform activity.
