The inclusive design add-on for better participation
Participation Plus+ is an add-on for Citizen Space that helps you hear from more of your community. With an Easy Read activity template and speech to text built directly into the platform, you can design consultations that work for people who might otherwise be left out of the conversation entirely.
The communities hardest to reach are often the ones with the most at stake. Better access means better data, and better data means better decisions.

Designed with specialists: the Easy Read activity type was built and refined with input from specialists Go Easy Read and Easy and Clear, reflecting how the format actually works for the people who rely on it.
Tested in production: speech to text has been tested in production with a pilot customer in New Zealand.
Built on accessible foundations: Citizen Space is tested to WCAG 2.2 Level AA or above and maintained in partnership with Tetralogical, accessibility consultants to GOV.UK. Participation Plus+ is for organisations that want to go even further.
Private by design: all speech processing happens locally in the browser, so respondent audio never leaves their device.

Speech to text makes responding to consultations easier for people who find typing difficult, or who simply prefer to speak their thoughts. Respondents tap the microphone, speak their answer, and review the transcribed text before submitting. They can even listen back to their answer before moving on.Audio is processed locally in the browser, protecting respondent privacy.

Easy to build. Easier to answer.
A tailor-made activity type pairing images with simplified text, softer language and a clearer journey for respondents. Co-designed with Easy Read specialists, it makes it simple to reach people who might otherwise be left out of the conversation.Content is structured in dedicated image and text columns, with large, clear typography and supportive language at key moments. Respondents complete and submit just like any other Citizen Space activity.
