Tactical voting ftw!

Interesting story here. The phenomenon of vote swapping online, where people can exchange their vote with someone else where their vote may have more impact, has been running for a while here and in the US. The idea is that someone wanting to vote for a candidate or party which stands no chance in their area can get someone else to vote for them in an area where they can win.

It seems that whilst such sites have run into few problems in the UK, they were ordered to be shut down in the US. Now however, after appeals, such sites have been deemed to be constitutionally protected by the first amendment.

So e-democracy in ‘big P’ politics in the states just goes from strength to strength. Will it ever take off to the same degree over here?
