onoffline

There’s no denying we’re an online company.  It says so on our website.  However, arguably just stating that we’re an “online” consultation company completely undersells what we do online – as online is a completely soul-less / character-less word, that ignores the fact that we’re actually dealing with “social relationships” and creating “social spaces” where people are happy to share their thoughts / ideas / feedback.
Linked to our fascination in social spaces, we’re planning a series of events over the coming months – including a couple of lives debates @ Parliament (more info on this to come).  What we want to do with these is to further explore how our online relationship building / ideas sharing / debate spaces can learn from the real “offline” world, and therefore importantly look at how we can improve the interaction between online and offline consultation.
Successful discussion / debate formats / environments we’d like to mirror include:
- TED: billed as “ideas worth spreading”

- The Do Lectures: a series of lectures billed as “That people who Do things, can inspire the rest of us to go and Do things too.”

- 21st Century challenges – a series of discussions  held by the Royal Geographical Society that aim to improve public understanding of, and engagement with, some of the key issues likely to affect our lives and society in the coming years.
