Email signatures every now and again are the bane of my life. Incomplete email signatures, such as those without any contact details are just not useful. The simple copy/paste of everyone’s details from an email signature genuinely saves me plenty of time while negotiating all the databases, sites and systems I have to use everyday.
A good email signature is a very useful thing, and this is where the e-partciaption bit of the post comes in…
We are often asked to do outreach around the sites we have made, or offer advice about methods that other people can use. In discussing different ways of utilising comms that are already happening, email signatures came up as a quick and easy win. By simply adding a few words about your site/intaitive and a link at the bottom of an email signature you send that information out on every correspondence you then mail.
It takes 2 minutes to change your email signature, it will go to everyone you email – if it’s a numbers game, surely every little helps.
It is precisely these quick wins, i.e seeing where you can use existing comms channels, which can lead to the tipping point of people finding and engaging with your site.
Anyone got any others?
