Cameron gets it

It’s nice to see that Britain’s political leaders are starting to get the internet, and its wider impact on society.  David Cameron seems particularly switched onto the power of the net, as was highlighted by his speech at Google’s zeitgeist, with talk of using the net to help devolve more power to the people.

Of course it’s easy to talk this way when you’re in opposition, however at least Cameron seems to really understand the impact of the social net as part of the bigger picture, rather than regarding it as a bit of a gimmick – which is what the government generally seems to think of it.
